A couple of the MACE picketers in front of Gwinnett’s Shiloh High School.

I do indeed love a good picket. It’s probably the most popular thing that we do at MACE, from the teachers’ perspective. But, it comprises probably about 2% of what we do. It is really relaxing and fun to be on the picket line. The trips to and from the picket are a trip, especially with some of the guys joning each other in the van! We pretty much laugh all the way to the school and back!
We had a couple of good pickets in Gwinnett and Clayton the week before the Thanksgiving break, and we will probably have a least a couple more before the Christmas break. Every now and then, the principal just learns dumber! Ha! It is amazing what just seven guys at a picket in front of a high school (as in the case of this picket) can accomplish. This drives the principals crazy. Good! Most of these bozos are driving the teachers crazy. Hence, the picket!
It appears that Crawford Lewis may have indeed been “a bullying candy ass!” Ha! MACE picketed former DeKalb superintendent, Crawford Lewis, on several occasions, including a three-day-straight picket. In this photo, J. B. (Josh) Stanley (C) talks to Paul Broft (L) and Attorney Preston Haliburton (R) on the picket line. Mr. Haliburton is a constitutional law expert and also represents MACE teachers from time to time. Not only did Mr. Haliburton come to the Crawford Lewis pickets, but so did the television news as well as police officers. The MACE picketers will not leave a Category One Free Speech Forum! Justice Thurgood Marshall once wrote: “What better place to picket than in front of a school?” Amen.
